Vincent Munguli

Vincent Munguli is a second-year student at Tsumeb Bible Academy. He is a very talented young man, both academically and practically. Vincent spent a year at a Catholic seminary and was earmarked as a priest, but soon realized that this was not the life for him.

He returned to Tsumeb and was working for the local copper mine as a welder when he met John D’Alton. He started working for John, doing odd jobs as a casual laborer and, with John teaching him the finer points of welding, he soon became a very proficient welder. In the picture, he is standing by the security gate at the Academy, which he welded under John’s skillful guidance.

As John taught Vincent the finer points of welding, he also taught him the gospel, which Vincent soon obeyed. Like so many Africans, Vincent speaks several tribal languages fluently, as well as English and Afrikaans. After Vincent graduates in 2009, our plans are for him to be a lecturer at Tsumeb Bible Academy, and he looks forward with great anticipation to being a leader in the Church in Namibia.
